Windows, shutters, and doors for buildings.- Dcors, shutters, and window frames are constructed from thin sheet metal, which is notched, cut out, and folded, so as to constitute hollow structures. Doors and shutters are made of two thin metal sheets h, i, Fig. 2, the edges of the sheet h being turned back over the edges of the other sheet and a bar k interposed between the edges so as to reinforce the structure. The rigidity may be further increased by welding the moulded portions at certain points. Heatinsulating and sound-deadening material l may be inserted between the sheets h, i. Window frames are constructed from a single sheet r which is folded along the dotted lines, Fig. 10. The apertures are adapted to be occupied by window panes, glazing bars s for securing which are enclosed between the downturned edges of the metal bands r<1>. Such windows may be hinged to hollow sheet-metal structures. The doors &c. are fitted to metallic walls as described in Specification 183,758, [Class 20 (iv), Floors &c.], by sheet metal frames which are connected to the walls by distance pieces and hooks embracing the turned over edges of wall and frame.
