Abstract

183,392. Diesfeld, P. Nov. 10, 1921. Shearing.-Relates to shearing rods, particularly the production of forgings and consists in a shearing-device which can be applied to any eccentric press or shearing-machine for cutting heated rods into blanks. The rod g is fed into a pair of apertured dies of which d is fitted in a fixed holder b while the other c is in a movable holder a. A spring ejector i positioned by a screw k determines the length to be cut off. The holder a has an aperture e through which the blank cut-off is ejected by the spring-plunger i when in line with the die d. Forging.-The blanks ejected from the aperture e may be delivered whilst hot direct to the forging-machine.
