Abstract

Dynamos, regulating; electromagnets; pole-pieces and cores.-The field magnet of a dynamo for magnetizing permanent magnets andfor other purposes is constructed in the form of an H, the lower limbs constituting the dynamo poles and the upper limbs 20, 21 being adapted to conduct leakage flux, and the field magnet winding is divided into two parts which can be connected in series or parallel. The magnet to be magnetized is placed in the upper limbs 20, 21 of the magnet and the field windings are connected in parallel. When the dynamo is used to supply current to an external circuit such as a battery and lighting circuit the field windings are connected in series with each other. A switch 15 is provided by which the field magnet windings can be connected in series or parallel.
