Abstract

181,041. B.S.A. Guns, Ltd., and Norman, G. Jan. 3, 1921. Projectiles.-A projectile for linethrowing, having a stem 1 and sleeve 5 fitting respectively into and over the barrel 2 of a gun, has the connecting cord or wire 8 for the line attached by passing through lugs or eye-pieces 7 formed in the lower end of the sleeve 5. The stem 1 and sleeve 5 are formed integrally with or screw-connected to a nose-piece 3 and are further secured by a cross pin 4. In a modification, Fig. 4, the connecting cord 8<a> is detachably secured to the projectile by a ferrule 10 having eyepieces 7<a> through which the cord is passed, the ferrule being detachably secured to the sleeve 5<a> of the projectile by the engagement of its flared lower portion 11 with the lower end of the sleeve which is similarly flared.
