Abstract

179,759. Williams, S. E. March 22, 1921. Channels and reservoirs. in pulleys for rope and cable haulage systems. The pulley axle is hollowed to provide a well for lubricating purposes, and is provided with means for holding a cap or cover over the top of the well. The pulley 5 runs on the hollow axle 3 formed integral with the base-plate 2. A pin 1, either cast integrally with the base-plate or having the base-plate cast on to it, extends axially through the hollow axle and through the cover-plate 6. Various means may be used to secure the cover-plate, for example it may screw on to the upper end of the pin, or may fit easily over the pin and be held down bv a nut or a cotter-pin 7. Lubricant is supplied to the well through an opening 8 and escapes through openings 9.
