Air vessels; buckets ; double-acting bucket pumps; bucket plunger pumps; valves, arrangement of.-In a doubleacting hand-operated bucket pump, the piston comprises a franged sleeve 18 which is slipped over the end of the hollow piston rod 11 and abuts against, a ring 16 let into an annular indentation 15 in the rod and a piston ring 19 held in place on the sleeve by a nut 20 threaded on the end of the rod, the annular indentation forming a seating for a cup valve 17. The pump consists of a barrel 1 having a lift suction valve 27 and a hollow tubular plunger 11 operated by a handle 13 formed with an air chamber 14 communicating through holes 23 with the discharge side of the barrel. The bucket valve 17 slides over ports 22 formed in the plunger, discharge taking place through the tube 8 by the head 3, flanged at 4 to permit of attachment to a receptacle.
