561,113. Reciprocating pumps. TURNER MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd. and GROVES, W. R. Nov. 2, 1942, No. 15369. [Classes 8 (i) and 102 (i)] A pump for liquids or gases comprises a handoperated two - armed lever E and a doubleacting differential piston C,with a relatively deep groove c<2> containing a shallower rubber packing ring K whereby the fluid passes the piston in one direction only. The piston C has an integral hollow piston rod c of half its cross-sectional area, the lower end of the rod forming a socket for the ball-end d of a connecting rod D pivoted to the short-arm e of the lever E, the bell-end d being secured in position by a retaining tube c<1>. The packing ring K is narrower than the groove c<2> which is connected to the upper and lower faces of the piston C by passages c<4>, c<3>. The inlet valve B rests on a rubber seating a.
