Cylinders receiving liquid fuel.-Fuel is injected radially or nearly so by an axially-disposed nozzle 6 against a ring 1 insulated from a water-jacketed cylinder head and barrel by washers 2, 3. In a semi-Diesel engine, the combustion space is fitted with an igniting-chamber 7, adapted to be externally heated at starting; or electric ignition may be used.
