Reservoirs i n engine crank casings. - In an internal - combustion engine for motor - cycles, an oil sump c is arranged at one side of the crank-case b with its inlet a above the lowest part of the crank case, and an adjustable deflector d is provided at the inlet which gathers oil carried or splashed up and diverts it into the sump, from whence it is withdrawn by a pump to a reservoir and returned to the system.
