Abstract

177,676. Taylor, L. Feb. 25, 1921. Propelling by rotary spheres.-A seat 5 for the occupant is suspended from a horizontal shaft 4 around which the outer envelope of the boat, which completely encloses the occupant, is adapted to rotate. The framework for supporting the outer envelope comprises hinged stays 2 attached at either end to the hub 14 and to the rim 1. This framework may be wholly collapsable or in part only to permit the occupant to take up his position. The outer envelope may be rotated by hand-gear comprising levers 16 pivoted to the shaft 4 and terminating in quadrants 15<a> gearing with the bevel wheels 15. Ventilators provided with float valves are mounted in the envelope, which is also provided with extensions in the form of leggings which permit the occupant to walk and carry the boat.
