Distributing matrices.-The pusher that transfens, the matrix line from the second elevator to the distributor is pivotally mounted on a slide so as to be movable into and out of the path of the matrices, and the slide is reciprocated from a rotary member which is driven from the distributor-screws through a clutch controlled by the rise and fall of the elevator. The pusher 15<a>, which is carried by a lever 15 pivotally mounted on a slides 12, normally rests at the inner end of its stroke and, on its outward movement, is rocked by a stationary cam 19 so as to clear the matrix line, which has been raised by the second elevator. The slide is actuated by a link 36 from an aim 35 on a rotary member which is intermittently connected through a clutch to a spurwheel geared to the distributor.screws. The elevator, as it rises, withdraws a pin carried by a, lever 41 and allows the clutch to close. The descent of the elevator permits the pin to return and disengage the clutch after one revolution.
