Abstract

177,464. Krauer, J. Sept. 6, 1921. Hair and head, special drying-appliances for.- A device for drying hair on the head comprises a hollow annular air distributor divided internally by a partition 2 into two superposed chambers 3, 4 having perforations in the inner walls 5, 6 and a segmental framed 10 projecting upwards from the inner wall and serving to -support the hanging hair, the apparatus being provided with a lid 12 adapted to close the central opening. Hot air is delivered from a fan through the passage 21 and distributed either to the upper or lower chamber or to both by means of a valve 16. The air in the lower chamber 3 is directed downwardly on to the head and to the nape of the neck in order to dry it, while that in the upper chamber 4 is directed upwardly over the hair and thence through the hair on the frame 10 and downwardlythrough the central opening of the frame. The apparatus together with an electric fan and heater may be supported on an adjustable stand.
