Winding-apparatus, hand.-The central arbor of a clock is replaced by a winding-spindle 1 provided with a winding-knob 4 and arranged to gear with the barrel by gears 7, 8. Going trains.-The barrel 5 gears with the second wheel 12 which gears with the fourth wheel 13 and the latter gears with the escape wheel 14. The escape wheel 14, fourth wheel 13, second wheel 12 and barrel 5 are geared so as to rotate once in six seconds, one minute, fifteen minutes and four hours respectively. Motionwork.-A sleeve 9 fixed to the barrel 5 has mounted thereon, friction tight, the minute wheel pinion 11 and carries with it the minute wheel 10 which therefore rotates once in four hours. The wheel 10 turns the cannon pinion 2 once every hour, and the minute wheel pinion 11 rotates the hour wheel 3 mounted loosely on the cannon pinion once every twelve hours.
