Abstract

Caustic soda and like boilers. - In the steam. storage and generating apparatus described in the parent Specification, circulation is promoted by the incoming steam and by the inclination of the tubes. Inclined tubes d passing through a soda boiler a open into end chambers b, c, which are connected by an external return pipe e. The steam inlet pipes f in the boiler are placed between vertical plates g. Steam is directed axially into the return pipe by a perforated pipe h. In a modification, the steam is directed into the ends of the tubes d. The chambers b, c may be connected by a second set of internal tubes, which are upwardly inclined. In a further modification, the tubes are replaced by longitudinal drums connected together by short inclined tubes.
