Kinematograph picture films. - A kinematograph film 9 is permanently secured to a rotary core 1 in a rigid storage reel, and has a perforation 10 or a notch whereby, when the film is be ing fed through a projector, the feed is stopped before tension is exerted upon the part of the flm attached to the core. As shown, the storage - reel comprises side cheeks 2, each having a notch 4, undetachably secured to a cylindrical wall 3 cut away so as to form with the notches 4 an opening through which the film may pass. The film may be secured to the core 1 by means of a spring 6, Fig. 3, having a pin 5 which passes through a perforation in the film and enters a recess in the core, or by inserting the end of the film in a slot in the core, winding the film once round the core, and then cementing the parts of the film together. The core may have a slot 11 to enable it to be rotated.
