Roller slides and roll spools.-A casing for a photographic film wound on a flanged spool comprises two separable caps 5, 6 having flanges 7, 8, fitting tightly one within the other, and plain heads, the head of the inner cap 6 being provided with a central aperture 11 and the flange of this cap being provided with a slot 13. The casing protects the film from light prior to and during the time the film is inserted in the camera, the insertion being effected by removing the cap 5, placing the spool on its spindle, threading the film, removing the cap 6, and closing the door of the camera. The aperture 11 is large enough to enable the cap 6 to be removed after the latch on the spool spindle has been turned into operative position. The casing, as shown, has a slot 10 in the flange 7, and the parts are assembled so t'hat the free end of the film or a leading strip passes through the slot 13, between the caps, and through the slot 10, the slots being out of register. The spool 2 has a hub provided with a slot for the end of the, film, central holes 20 in the flanges to engage the spool spindle, and an eccentric hole 21 to engage a pin on the spindle. The Specification, as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises a modification in which the casing is made without the slot' 10 and the opening 11. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
