Roll spools.-A film spool comprises a drum a on which the film is wound, a flange c fixed to one end of the drum and to a spindle d, and a removable flange e screwing on to the other end of the spindle d. An outer cylindrical casing f is adapted to rotate between the flanges c, e in grooves c<2>, e<2>, and is provided with a slot g, for the passage of the film, having hook-shaped edges h, h<1>, which are adapted to be secured to a film slide or carrier. The spool may be attached, by means of spring-pressed clutching- devices engaging openings o in the flanges c, e, to a pair of spring barrels, which effect automatic rewinding of the film after unwinding.
