Submarine vessels.-With a view to imparting greater stability to submarines both when submerged and when operating on the surface, the hull consists of an upper closed body A reserved for officers quarters and light equipment generally and communicating bv way of conduits C with a lower closed body B designed to contain the propelling plant and other heavy equipment. Either or both of the bodies A, B may be duplicated by similar bodies arranged symmetrically with respect to the longitulinal plane of the vessel. The bodies A, B are enclosed by an outer hull E of stream-line form and the body A is flanked fore and aft by gun turrets.
