Pencil holders. - In a pencil holder of the type in which the lead is fed forward by the operation of a screwthreaded rod, the rod works in a nut carried by one end of a tubular body, on which a sheath enclosing the rod is slidably mounted. The body 1 is longitudinally bored to receive the lead, and in the end thereof is screwed an internally screws-threaded sleeve 3 in which works the rod 4 carrying the lead 2. The rearend of the rod! 4 is secured to a part 6 lying against the base of a sheath 7, Fig. 1, and rotatable relatively thereto. The sheath is slidable on the body 1 and is provided with a slot 15 engaging a pin 10 on the sleeve 3. To feed the lead forward, tht sleeve 3 is slightly unscrewed from the bodv 1 and the rod 4 rotated to screw into the sleeve. In the modification shown in Fig. 2, the sheath 7 is formed as a series of cvlindrical or conical telescopic sections 7a - - - 7f, the first section being secured to the sleeve 3 and the last to the part 6. The rear end of the rod 4 is bent to form a hook 8 to serve for attaching to the pocket or to prevent rolling.
