Abstract

173,165. Skelly, B. H. Dec. 21, 1920. Couplings, disconnectible; with valves.-A portable device for lubricating shackle bolts &c. comprises a syringe 1 connected by a flexible pipe 22 to a valved nozzle 24, which fits into a sleeve 31 formed on a nipple 30 fixed in the bolt 29 to be lubricated and held in position manually. The nipple contains a spring-pressed valve 34 and a notched stem 36 which opens a valve 26 in the nozzle when the latter is pressed into the sleeve against a packing-disc 37. The sleeve is covered by a lid 38 hinged at 44 and held in place by a spring curl 39 at its edge. A valve 6 in the outlet of the syringe is opened by a notched stem 21 in a coupling-member 18 held by a screwed collar 17.
