Abstract

172,997. Holle, A. A. June 25, 1920. Screw propellers. - The blades of screw propellers, water mills, windmills, &c. are formed with a central portion 1 quadrangular in plan and in which the chord increases from the positions 4 to 5, and the camber of the rear surface and angle relatively to the helical plane decreases from the central portion out to the edges 12, 11. The blades are mounted on the shaft 13 by arms 14 on a boss 15, the various parts being streamlined. In a modification, the inner parts of the blades are attached to a large boss.
