Abstract

172,965. Tourseiller, J. A. F. Dec. 14, 1920, [Convention date]. Driving-arrangernents for screw propellers.-A propeller is provided with alternate thrust and suction surfaces produced on a diaphragm by cyclical deformation. A flexible diaphragm F, Fig. 1, carried by a casing A is fixed to the vessel. The rotating shaft B has an arm C on which are freely mounted rollers D which bearup against the diaphragm and on rotation deform it to produce the alternate surfaces. The casing is supplied with air at the required pressure by a pipe G. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) also comprises a propeller in which thrust surfaces J, Fig. 2 (Cancelled), alternate with suction surfaces K in a rigid construction. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
