Abstract

172,273. Szakats, G. Nov. 30, 1920, [Convention date]. Tyres, non-elastic, and rims; slipping, attachments to wheels for preventing. - A wheel rim is formed of angle iron hoops 1, Fig. 3, between which are fitted metal troughs 2 , having faces 2', 2" of different inclination. Curved blades 5, pivoted to the hoops 1 at 7, are adapted to be forced outwardly between the edges of adjacent troughs by links 6, Fig. 1, connected rigidly to an eccentric. The projecting parts 5<1> of the curved blades 5 are concentric with the pivot 7 and are scraped by parts 2<111> as they are withdrawn into the rim. The various parts are so formed that the angle between pivoted parts is maintained large enough to prevent obstructions becoming lodged between them.
