Abstract
172,093. Bailey, S. L. Aug. 26, 1920. Clutches.-To prevent shock to an internalcombustion engine and excessive strains upon the driving chains of motor cycles at starting, a flywheel A carries a series of spring-pressed pins E which engage recesses in a driving wheel D loosely mounted on a collar C secured to the crank shaft B. When the load is excessive the pins E are forced out of the recesses D<1> and the fly-wheel overruns the wheel D. The springs H may be adjusted by a nut G.
