Abstract

Tyre valves; closure members, lift.-A valve closure particularly adapted for a tyre-valve has the valve face supported in a cup-shaped member with a tapered bottom and adapted to engage a tapered seat. The hollow valve spindle 15 has lateral ports 14 and is provided with a groove 16 adapted to receive the inner edge of a valve washer 22. The outer periphery of the washer is supported so as to leave an air space beneath, by a cylindrical flange formed on a sheetmetal cup 18 secured to the valve spindle by rolling a part of a cylindrical extension on the cup into a recess 20 in the valve spindle. The bottom of the cup is inclined at a more obtuse angle than the tapered surface 11 on the valve seat against which the valve is pressed by a spring 23. The valve seat is formed on a member 7 screwed into the main casing and fitted with a packing 10 and a shoulder 8 adapted to butt against the end of the casing.
