Abstract

156,848. Marks, E. C. R., (Worthington Pump & Machinery Corporation). Aug. 13, 1919. Check lift valves.-A valve for high-speed pumps is constructed with a resilient seating and a light sheet-metal valve member. A central hub 12 is connected to the casing 10 by a spider 11, and is threaded to receive the cap stem 13. This stem is tapered as at 14 and carries a spider 23 to which a depending sleeve 24 is attached. An annular india-rubber valve seat 17 is held in position by the ridge 18, and a second seat 20 rests on the hub 12. An annular valve 22 is formed of light sheet-metal, and is pressed on its seat by a spring 25. The inner edge of the valve is guided by lugs 28.
