146,113. Ward, J. T. April 19, 1918, [Convention date]. Dust-caps for tyre valves.-A dust-cap for a tyre valve is secured in position by a bayonet-catch device arranged inside the valve cap. The cap 16, which is made cylindrical at its lower end to slide over a boss 10 formed on a base part secured to the valve casing, is fitted internally with a spring 22 arranged between a shoulder 18 and an annular ring 21 supported by lugs 20 or by the top of the base portion. The lugs are adapted to be pressed through slots 14 into a groove 13 when a part rotation will bring them into engagement with recesses 15 formed in the under surface of the flange 12 to hold the cap in position.
