Abstract

Protractors ; squares. - In a drawing-instrument comprising a rotatable ruler b carried by a member c slidably mounted on a T-square. both the square and the ruler are provided with interchangable scales a, a<1> and with sliding pencil-holders k, which can be moved transversely to the edges of the square and ruler, and the member c is provided with a scale marked in degrees and with an additional scale d for facilitating the equal division of circles and arcs. The member c has a slot through which the scale a is visible, and a crossbar f in line with the centre of rotation of the ruler b. The pencil or copying- point t, Fig. 3, of the ruler is mounted in a sleeve l, which can be inserted in a groove in the slide of the pencil holder. The drawing-pen m is provided with two ledges o at right-angles, either of which can be inserted in the groove. The pencil-holder of the T-square is rotatably mounted on. the sliding frame k, as shown in Fig. 7.
