Single-acting suction-valveless bucket pumps; buckets; mountings; valves, arrangement of. -A pump for heavy oil or other fluids comprises a barrel B<1> carried by a fitting F provided with an outlet F<1> and a delivery valve V, which is frictionally mounted on the pump-rod R and moves with it until stopped by its seat. V<1> or the top of the fitting F. The rod R passes through the bucket B and carries the bucket valve P<x>. In another form, the bucket has two segmental ports controlled by a correspondingly - shaped valve on the rod R. The valves V carries two studs pressed against the rod R by adjustable springs.
