167,007. Hummel, B. May 3, 1920. Fluid supply for whistles.-Whistle alarms for motor-vehicles are operated by gas taken directly from the cylinders. Two or more whistles of different pitch are somewhat in unison. The casing a receives the whistles f, and is fitted with a central valve i and a compression cock g. A screw-threaded nipple a<1> is used to connect the casing to a suitable aperture in the engine cylinder. The ports leading to the whistles communicate with the channel b above the valve-seating c; the port from the compression cock enters the channel b below the seating. The valve stem is operated by a Bowden wire n and a lever k pivoted to a supporting-frame l, which is free to turn into a position to suit the direction from which the wire n proceeds.
