Milling-machines.-In a machine for trimming the edges of printing plates &c. in which a work-supporting table is moved past the trimming-tool, the table is supported at one side only so that the operator can follow the table as it is moved. The table 8 having an abutment 9 for one edge of the plate is provided with arms or brackets 22, 18, 17 carrying pairs of rollers 14, 15, 16 mounted on ball-bearings and engaging tracks 12, 13, 11 on a vertical part 10<a> of a frame 10. The tracks 12, 13 are on opposite sides of the frame part 10<a> and are at an angle to each other to present tilting and lifting of the table. The table may be further guided and prevented from lifting by means of V-shaped engaging members 24, 25 carried by the frame 10 and bracket 22 respectively. The cutter 1 is carried by a shaft 2 driven by a motor 4 through a clutch 5 and is protected by a casing 6 having gaps 7 for the passage of the work. A pivoted side gauge may be provided, and a scale may be provided along the abutment 9.
