Abstract
166,339. Nicole, L. April 12, 1920. Electrically-actuated valves.-A valve apparatus for controlling the flow of one fluid in accordance with the pressure of a second fluid comprises a valve actuated by a pair of electromagnets under the control of a switch actuated by a Bourden tube. In the form shown, the valve m is a cylindrical hit-and-miss valve, and is carried by a lever i<1> which also supports an armature i arranged between a pair of electromagnets g, h connected to contacts e, f. The contact arm of the switch is in the form of a spring blade d, and is carried by the closed end b<2> of a Bourden tube b. The blade carries an auxiliary arm d<1> adapted to engage a contact n to sound an alarm. In a modification, the magnets are arranged in a separate compartment. In a further modification the blade is separate from the Bourden tube and is actuated by an adjustable member engaging a further spring or arm which also engages a catch member arranged to hold the valve in the open position. A single magnet may be used.
