Abstract

Ball and float valves. -A valve device operating automatically and intermittently particularly . adapted for controlling the gas supply to illuminated signs and of the type in which an outlet valve is actuated by a float moved by variations in the level of a liquid acted on by the gas pressure has the inlet pipe adapted to admit. less gas than the outlet is capable of passing. The inlet connection v has a valve-controlled bye-pass leading to the outlet, a coch y for putting the device into or out of action and a cock z for initially adjusting the inflow and thus the length of the open and closed intervals. The valve member or seat may be magnetized so as to cause a, snap action in opening an closing. In a modification, the chambers are made of metal, and a burner nozzle needle regulator is used to control the inlet. In a further modification the valve member is guided above and below its seat.
