Abstract

383,446. Combined pressure-regulating and safety cut-off valves. DAY, A., 276, Westbourne Avenue West, Hull. Dec. 9, 1931, No. 34152. [Class 135.] A combined gas governor and safety cut-off valve actuated by a diaphragm or liquid sealed bell has the cut-off valve so arranged that it is held closed by the pressure of the gas when the gas supply is resumed. The pressure regulating valve 7 is directly connected to the actuating member 5 and the cut-off valve member 14 is connected through a bell-crank lever 12. The lever 12 is pivoted to a bracket 13 which forms a guide for the valve 14 and engages at its ends with grooved collars 10, 15 on the valve spindles. The collar 10 is adjustably secured to the spindle 6 and may be adjusted, after removing a plug 19, by inserting a tool in a saw-cut in the end of the collar. The valve is reopened by manipulating a knob 17 after removing a cover 18.
