615,997. Electromagnetically-actuated valves. SEGRAVE, C. R., WILLIAMS, T. B. GLYNNE-, and BARKER, H. H. May 14, 1946, No. 14507. [Class 135] In an electromagnetically-actuated valve, in which an electromagnet or solenoid 5 surrounds a liquid conduit 7 opening into a valve chamber 12 adjacent one end of the solenoid and containing a magnetic valve element 11 normally spring-pressed against a seating 14 to close the conduit and adapted to be attracted away from the seating when the solenoid is energized, the valve element comprises a flat disc slidable in the valve chamber. The electromagnet may be controlled by a thermostat.
