165,693. Philbrow, W. E. Sept. 4, 1920. Piston packing, applicable also for stuffing-boxes comprises two or more nested conical rings c, d each formed with an inner flange f and an outer flange e. The rings are partially or wholly divided by a number of cuts and are arranged to break joint. Copper and asbestos or other compressible washers i may be placed between the flanges f. The packing ,is shown applied to a piston constructed as described in Specification 160,648.
