Abstract

165,570. Zubryd, A. April 14, 1920. Pontoons.-Comprises a collapsables life-saving apparatus adapted to carry several passengers and of spherical form, when extended. The framework consists of a. number of hoops 8, 9, the hoops 8 being secured to the lower end of the vertical post 10 and the hoops 9 pivoting on this post. A horizontal hoop 12 is journaled on the hoops 8 and is maintained in position by braces 14. When collapsed, all braces and hoops are in the plane of the hoops 8. A platform 18 near the bottom of the structure is provided for the support of passengers, and is carried by hooked rods 22 from the post 10. The whole of the framework is covered by waterproof material 31 having openings for light and entrance and Exit of passengers. The oars 26 are operated from within the structure and are fixed to flexible tabular connections 27, as shown. The handles are inserted into sockets 26<1> in the blades.
