Non-metallic elastic bodies and cores; rims and fellces.-A solid tyre comprises a tread portion a, of hard rubber preferably rectangular in crosssection, a soft rubber portion d of elliptical crosssection and an inner portion f, of hard rubber. The parts are joined so that no definite line of cleavage is formed, and canvas or cord reinforcements c, h, may be provided. The hard rubber is arranged to cover the sides of the soft rubber part d. Grooves g are provided by which the tyre is held to the rim when bolts draw in a loose rim-flange k. The rim-flange k and its corresponding flange o are flared outwardly to control the distortion of the tyre under load.
