Abstract

Shades; reflectors; shade-holders.-A lamp fitting comprises an opaque upper reflector consisting of a dished ring or disc made in two sections B, B' and a translucent shade A of truncated hemispherical shape suspended by its upper edge centrally below the opaque reefictor. The suspension means for the shade may consist of (1) clips c, Fig. 1, screwed or bolted to the reflector and engaging the turned-over edge a of the shade, (2) rods c<3>, Fig. 2, secured to the reflector by nuts c<5> and supporting a ring a<2> on which the inwardly turned flange a<1> of the shade rests; and (3) chain c<6> attached to the bolts b<1> securing the sections B, B<1> of the reflector together and carrying hoohs engaging either an outwardly flaring portion a<1> of the shade, as shown in Fig. 3, or a split ring d having a flange d<1> supporting the shade by its edges a<1>, as shown in Fig. 4. One end of the split ring may be provided with a tongue d<2> which is passed through a slot in the other end and is then bent over.
