Be it known that I, BAssnrT'JoNEs, a citizen of the United States and residing at Mahwah, Bergen county, tate of New Jersey, have invented certain new and useful- Improvements 1n lnghtl-ng-Fixtures, of-
cipal features of the invention reside in the means for suspending the reflectors so that the lower may be removed easily without disturbing the upper reflector or the two parts may be removed together as a unit. @ther objects and features of novelty will be apparent from the description taken in connection with the drawings, in which- Figure l is an elevation of a fixture constructed in accordance with the present in-.

Fig. 3 is a perspective view of one of the clips supporting the lower reflector or plate. Referring to the drawings the reference numeral 10 indicates the upper metal reflector of a two part lighting fixture. This reflector may be of any suitable shape and is open at its upper and lower ends. According to the present inyention, this reflector is suspended on three arms 11, these arms at their upper ends being secured to the cone or support 12 associated with the lamp socket 13. The lower ends of the arms 11 are formed with the hooked portions 14 adapted to receive the lower edge of the reflector 10. The arms 11 may be made from any suitable material. If constructed from metal strips or bars, they may be twisted as indicated at 15 and 16, so that'the greater portion of their lengths are disposed edgewise. Preferably the hooked shaped ends 1 1 are slightly oflset outwardly, so that the reflector may be more easily removed, as will be explained hereinafter. 1
At the lower end of the reflector 10 is disposed a reflector or diffusing plate 17, although this member may have other shapes than that shown. F or the purpose of suspending this member 17, a plurality of clips 18 are secured to the reflector l0 and shaped to engage and support the plate or disk 17. In the form shown there are three of the clips 18, two of which are secured to the reflector 10 in any suitable manner, as by means of the'rivets 19. One of the clips, indicated by the reference numeral 20, is preferably formed with an elongated aperture 21 for a bolt 22, so that when the'bolt 22 is loosened, the clip may be displaced sufficiently so that the plate 17 may be removed.
While the members 10 and 17 may be of various shapes in so far as the suspending means is concerned,'T prefer to use a flat member 17 in conjunction with an upper reflector 10 which has its smaller opening at the bottom and which flares rapidly outwardly and upwardly so that it is markedly concave on its outer or non-reflecting surface, the. convex surface catching and reflecting the rays from the li' ht, source. zontal. Thisform gives a desirable light. distribution. and good efliciency in a fixture of cheapand simple'construction.
From the foregoing description it is apparent, to remove bothreflectors, it is merely necessary to raise'the upper reflector, with the lower reflector plate attached thereto, so that the hooks on-the ends of the arms 11 become disengaged fromthe lower edge of the upper reflector. Then the upper reflector is moved slightly laterally so as to permit two of the hooks to pass through the lower open end of the upper reflector. The arms 11 are more or less yielding and the offset ends, if
provided, aid in permitting this lateral movement. 1
To remove the lower reflector or separate the two reflectors, the bolt or screw 22' is loosened sufiiciently so that the clip 20 may be disengaged from the edge of the lower reflector, whereupon said reflector may be disengaged from the other two clips.
It is apparent from the foregoing, that according to the present invention the lower reflector may be removed without disturbing the upper reflector or the means for supporting the same, or both reflectors may be removed simultaneously.
Although a specific form of the invention has been described in detail, it is to be understood that the invention is not limited, but
includes modifications and changes which come Within the scope of the appended claims.
Having thus described the invention what is claimed as new and desired to be secured by Letters Patent is:
1. A lighting fixture including in combination, a support, an annular reflector having open ends, a plurality of spring arms secured to the support and having hooked ends receiving the lower edge of said reflector, said hooked ends of the spring arms being offset from said support and said arms passing through said annular reflector, a circular reflecting member below said reflector and clips secured to said reflector and supporting said member, one of said clips. being removable.
2. A lighting fixture including in combination, a support, an annular reflector having open ends, a plurality of arms secured to the support and to said reflector, a circular reflecting member below said reflector, and clips secured to said reflector and supporting said member, one of said clips being removable.
3. A lighting-fixture including in combination, a support, an annular reflector ha"- ing open ends,a plurality of arms secured to the support and to said reflector, a circular reflecting member below said reflector, and clips secured to said reflector and supporting said member, one of said clips having an elongated slot therein and a bolt in said slot whereby the clip may be readily disengaged from said member.
