Moulding-machines, particularly of the type described in Specification 131,713, are provided with a second table to which the pattern plate and moulding-box can be transferred from the moulding-table and with means for actuating the consolidating mechanism and the transferring mechanism from a common shaft. The pattern plate f, and box g are shown as supported on the jarring table j which is operated, as described in the aforesaid Specification, by a cam m and levers l. The cam shaft n is driven from a shaft d through a clutch o, held in gear by a spring t. On an upper shaft c are keyed two arms e which, when the plate and box are to be transferred, are secured by pins h and cotters &c. to the plate f. The shaft d is moved endways to put the wheels u, v into gear to rotate the shaft c. The plate and box are thus raised and inverted into an adjustable table i. The pinions u, v are put out of gear automatically by a cam on the shaft c, which raises a lever y, Fig. 3, out of a groove in a collar x, and allows the spring t to move the shaft d endways, but not sufficiently to put in the clutch o. When the clutch is to be put in, the lever y is raised by hand to clear the collar 3 and allow the spring t to act.
