Combined moulding and repressing machines. - Relates to machines wherein clots from an intermittently-rotating pocketed drum pass to a vertical press and consists in the provision of a second press in line with the first and adapted to deal with a pair of bricks which are transferred thereto by a platform having means to displace laterally the first brick of a pair for the reception of the second. As shown, the first press a and the second press b are driven from a common shaft c, the press a operating at twice the speed of the press b. Bricks from the press a are delivered on to a platform h which is movable vertically through cam and lever mechanism i, j so as to align alternately with the tables of the two presses. A pusher m, operated by a cam o, moves the first brick across the platform h. The pair of bricks is transformed to the press b by a pusher p which may be operated by means as disclosed in Specification 194,539. In place of the pusher m, the platform h may be moved laterally. To reduce the relative height of the table p<2> of the press b above that of the press a, the table of the latter is furnished with a sloping portion a<2>.
