163,182. Prince, A. March 22, 1920. Ladders.-Staging appliances for suspending ladders &c. c, d parallel to the walls of a building &c. or to a girder comprise one or more horizontal members a suspended at intervals from vertical members b. The members a, b are made of flexible material such as wire &c. rope and are attached to the building at the points a'. The ladders c, d are suspended from the wires &c. a by means of hooked brackets lashed to the ladder sides and carrying rollers e. The ladder c may be held parallel with the wall by guy ropes g. The short ladder d is for the purpose of suspending the operator while moving the work ladder c along the runner. For high buildings, a series of members such as a, b may be provided, the work ladders being long enough to reach the lowest member a, the same ladders being used again at a higher level.
