Class 20(2) A staging for a scaffold comprises a platform 10 secured to the lower cross bars of end frames 12 connected to the platform by braces 13 and to each other by a wire 14, the frames having plates to which are secured winches 16 adapted to wind up the staging on wires which pass over blocks 20 suspended from a ship's bulwark or a building and back to hooks 18 on the end frames. The frames 12 have rollers adapted to run along a ship's side when the staging is moved horizontally on rollers 24 supporting the blocks 20. The blocks may be hooked on a ship's bulwarks.
