A cover for a building site comprises a structure, Fig. 2, composed of struts D fixed to flexible connectors C by means of a friction grip, the structure being held in shape by ropes E fixed to the connectors by means of pegs, each peg gripping a connector and part of a rope by friction, and a membrane gripped between each connector and its respective peg. As described each connector, Fig. 3 has a plurality of hollow horizontal arms A which receive the struts and a central vertical hole B in which the membrane F is held by the crown of the peg G, which is held in position by a sleeve H. The other end of the peg has integral hooks K which frictionally grip a rope part J.
