Abstract

Casks and the like, lamps for illuminating.-A holder for an electric lamp for viewing the interior of casks, drums, cylinders, jars or the like comprises an inner metal socket 7 separated by a soft india-rubber sleeve 8 from an outer casing and screen 5 attached 'by a bracket 6 to an eyepiece 3 supported by a head-band 1. A bar 15 is secured to the socket 7, and on insertion of the casing 5 into a bung-hole, engages the exterior of the cask or the like, thus tilting the socket 7 which then engages an adjustable contact 16. Contact is thus established between the lamp-cap 9 and a lead 13 connected to the eye-piece. The other lead 12 is connected to a contact 11 on the cap. The eye-piece consists of a metal or other ring 2 enclosed in an india-rubber ring.
