Gaseous-fuel furnaces.- Gas from a producer of the kind described in Specification 14304/10, controlled by a valve a, and air from a pipe e, controlled by a valve f, enter a pipe b and are mixed and compressed by a blower c and delivered through a pipe g passing through the outlet flue j of the furnace i to which the mixture is delivered in a heated condition through a nozzle h. To prevent back-firing, due to slow running or stoppage of the blower, a water seal may be arranged in the pipe, g. A by-pass pipe provided with a valve may be connected to the inlet and outlet pipes of the blower. Instead of one pipe b, several pipes may be used each provided with a blower, or several pipes leading through the heating-flue may be provided between the blower and the furnace.
