Abstract

162,143. Boyd, J. W. March 1, 1920. Compound bricks. - Composite bricks with cobble-stone facings are formed by levelling a piece of ground, depressing the stones 3 into the ground so that their faces are covered and then pouring on cement or concrete 6 in a surrounding mould 2 to form a backing metal. Reinforcement may be used around the stones or at their backs, and the front surface may be curved instead of flat. Pillars and columns are also formed by inserting cobbles 3 in holes in the ground and running in the concrete backing as before, Fig. 9.
