Abstract

161,807. Halton, S. M. March 17, 1920. Regulating.-To vary the clearance, the piston is connected to an adjustable crank-shaft mounted in a pair of arms 2 pivoted on a cam shaft 3 and carrying at their ends remote from the shaft 3 a pair of screwed eyes, in which engage spindles 9 actuated by a worm and worm wheel. The cam shaft is geared by wheels 19, 20 to the crank-shaft, and a magneto 21 is driven frcm the cam shaft through chain gearing 23, 24. Adjustment of the crank-shaft simultaneously adjusts the cam shaft and the magneto for the altered conditions of running.
