Motors, mounting.-The casing 1 of a fluidexpansion engine is rigidly connected to the rearaxle housing 3 by an annular plate 7 having a bracket 11 which carries the crank-shaft 18, so that by changing the bracket different gear-ratios between the crank-shaft and the axle may be employed. The crank-shaft bearings are carried by frame-members 14 fitted to the cylinder-head 2 and to the bracket 11. In a modification in which a less rigid engine-frame is employed, the crank-shaft bearings are carried by and connected to the bracket 11 by screwed rods, so that the position of the crank-shaft may be varied along the rods.
